Makembe
Makembe
This is a really hopping tune. It starts out with just a kalimba and single vocal with some cicada noise and children talking in the background. You can just about feel funk and smell of the streets of Kinshasa as it starts to merge with the Congolese jungle. Then after a pause, the whole band starts up, and the lead singer belts out these awesome trills, that in turn get answered by the chorus. Goes on for about 8 minutes and the whole thing just grooves!!! Enjoy.
